Create your AI key

How to get a key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or OpenRouter and connect it in Pranory. One is enough.

Pranory uses AI to draft emails, analyse the replies you get and fill in business profiles. It does this with your own key: the provider bills you directly.

One provider is enough. Pick the one you already use or the one you prefer.

Providers Pranory supports

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • Google Gemini (Google AI Studio key)
  • OpenRouter (one account for models from several providers)

OpenAI

  1. Go to platform.openai.com and sign in.
  2. Under Billing, add a payment method or credit. Without credit, the key won't respond.
  3. Go to API keys and click Create new secret key.
  4. Name it, for example pranory, and copy it. It's only shown once.

Anthropic

  1. Go to console.anthropic.com and sign in.
  2. Under Billing, buy credits or add a payment method.
  3. Go to API Keys and click Create Key.
  4. Name it and copy it. It's only shown once.

Google Gemini

  1. Go to aistudio.google.com with your Google account.
  2. Click Get API key, then Create API key.
  3. Choose a Google Cloud project, or let AI Studio create one.
  4. Copy the key.

To use it beyond the free tier limits, turn on billing for that project.

OpenRouter

  1. Go to openrouter.ai and sign in.
  2. Under Credits, add some credit.
  3. Go to Keys and click Create Key.
  4. Name it and, if you like, set a spending limit. Copy the key.

Connect it in Pranory

  1. Go to Settings → Providers.
  2. On your provider's card, click Connect.
  3. Paste the key and validate it. Pranory checks that the provider accepts it.
  4. Save.
  5. Go to Settings → AI routing and choose which provider and model each feature uses. If you only have one provider, choose it everywhere.

The key is stored encrypted, and you'll only ever see its last few characters on screen.

If something goes wrong

  • Key rejected on validation: check you copied the whole key and haven't deleted it on the provider's site.
  • Credit or quota error: the provider account has no credit, or you've hit your spending limit. Top up on their site.
  • No models show up in AI routing: click Refresh models. If it's still empty, validate the key again in Providers.
  • You want to control the spend: most providers let you set a spending limit or alerts on their site. With Gemini, create a budget alert in Google Cloud: it warns you, but doesn't stop the spend.
